Suitable rear spoiler for the 3200 GT?

Greetings to the board,

Having owned my precious Maserati for about a month or so by now, and with the car off to winter storage I'm keeping myself busy planning for the future. As there are not really much aftermarket parts to go around, I guess I'll have to resort to universal parts when transforming the car's exterior.

In my very personal and humble opinion, no sports or GT car is complete without a properly aggressive rear spoiler, and taking the rather sharp end of the 3200 GT into consideration one of my primary concerns will be to find a suitable item that will go along well with the Maserati exterior.

I've tried putting more or less all the search terms I could come up with into Google in order to find pictures of 3200's with mounted rear spoilers. After putting some effort into it, I finally managed to find a picture with one that I fancy would also look good on my car. This is it:

Please let me know what you all think. As my previous experience only extends to modifying Asian cars when it comes to exterior styling, I find myself in unknown territory on this one. I don't want to ruin the car's appearance or have people laughing at me in the street, but I maintain that the car does look a little lame in its original form. Any tips or ideas are very welcome!

Or... I'm just messing with you. That thing is a friggin' sacrilege. Just thought I'd give you all a good laugh as it may be needed on Friday afternoon after a hard week's work.

Why anyone would do that to their car is beyond me. It just has to be one of the most effective ways to ruin the elegant exterior of the 3200 GT. While I do maintain that, in some ways, the exterior wouldn't suffer from some subtle and graceul enhancements (with inspiration to be found on other Maserati coupes, this particular one leave me at a loss for words.

I hope you enjoyed my little joke nonetheless.

The car's in Japan, not known for stylish automotive modifications.

Somebody please tell me that's Photoshopped...?!

I'm afraid it's not. I guess we'll have to commend the owner for at least chosing a rear spoiler with mounts that match the width of the trunk lid. That's just about all, however, he/she is to be commended for.

Is this spoiler available? A boot lid lip spoiler also available in carbon fibre.

Think it may have been available, but is now a google cache find?

Cheers,
Mike

Yes, as far as I know it's available from EuroSpares. I'm contemplating getting one for my car in the future, as I consider it a subtle yet tasteful enhancement to the car, and the fact that it's a genuine Maserati accessory means it probably wouldn't mess with the car's air of elegance.

yeah its available in either colour coded or carbon fibre but at an extortionate price , i think there was a group buy on maseratilife for carbonfibre ones at around £250 each might be worth asking on there

I have always found the rear end of my 3200 a little light at speed, perhaps this spoiler would cure the problem?
