Anybody out there had a go at repairing the indicator mechanism. Mine had ceased to self cancel after a left turn , considered this potentially dangerous as anyone waiting to turn right at a junction would assume I was intending to turn left . I replaced it with one from Eurospares which works fine ,but lacks the cruise control of the original stalk .
I fished out the old one with a view to effecting a repair .
Came apart easy enough , and as far as I can see the only influence on the spring loaded release assembly, comes from the white plastic collar which pushes the catch back with a sloped cam .
Plenty on Ebay from alfa 166 , trouble is they may well be older and covered more miles .
So I thought I would get the collar 3D printed and make the cams taller . I can then remove any excess to achieve optimum action .
I shall seek out a printer tomorrow.
