First of all apologies that this didn't make it into the weekends activities.
Secondly a huge thank you to those who donated gifts, time and financial support. It would be remiss not to acknowledge them so....
With thanks to Eurospares and Emblem. Thanks particularly to Myles and Clive for taking the time out to join us.
With thanks to Anrdea of SuperCarHub, but more importantly our favourite female forum member.
With thanks to Frank for his guidance and donation.
With thanks to Rob for his gifts, both particular and financial.
With thanks to Dem, Loz, Matt and others who have donated gifts and financial support.
So without further ado let me announce the winners of the inaugural Sports Maserati Forum awards.
Most (unattainable) woman obsessed forum member.
A hotly contested award this one with several worthy forum members nominated, but for sheer youth and enthusiasm, there could only be one truly woman obsessed winner.....
Congratulations to Adam. Now take a cold shower young man.
Most impressive deviation from original post topic.
A close run contest between two of our most impressively deviant posters, but just pipping Andy to the title....
Congratulations to our very own Spartan super-model Dem. Make mine a latte.
Forum member who really should know better.
Let's be honest, this was never going to be a closely run contest and apart from a couple of nominations, one of whom was for Birdcage there could only be one person who could bear this mantle.
For his relentless need for speed and libido that never sleeps congratulations to Urby. Peter, did you keep Cameron tied up in your room at the weekend? Don't remember seeing her at the meal?
Most consistently valuable advise.
Again there could only be one winner, someone who has dispensed sage and insightful advise both here and for some considerable time previously across the road.
Congratulations to Loz. I'm sure I can say with confidence you have all our thanks for getting us out of what would otherwise have been potentially expensive situations.
Most consistently valuable research.
We're blessed that there are so many members prepared to give up time and effort to contribute to our shared knowledge, but one person has consistently gone the extra mile to seek out helpful information, and continues on a daily basis to do so...
Congratulations to Frank. Ebay Emperor.
Most consistently humorous poster.
If one of the aspects that has made Sports Maserati such a success has been the length our members are prepared to go to to seek out helpful advice, prime amongst the others is the good humour in which all have shared their time on the forum. One person in particular has fulfilled both with diligence and wit so...
Congratulations once again to Frank. Deservedly our first double recipient.
Most consistent photographic / video contributor.
There is one fundamental rule of photography that stands ahead of all others and that is to get off your sorry @rse and take pictures, so in that light there can only be one winner. For his endless petrolhead enthusiasm and for constantly seeking out ways in which to visually portray what others can only speak of....
Congratulations to Adam. One day I'll hope to match your commitment.
Most useful how-to.
Sitting firmly in our excellent technical section, any award rewarding those whose expertise have built this library is important and as such it is only right that I should mention all those who's efforts have been recognised in forum nominations.
So between the impressive efforts of Matt, Loz, Predator and Cowsurgeon I'm delighted to offer....
Congratulations to Jagpurr. Truly helpful time-saving and cost saving fix-its. Kudos.
Most highly regarded car - Maserati.
So how does one measure the beauty of one Trident against another, for beauty can only be measured in the eye of the beholder? Dem's AC? Enzo's glorious QP? Maybe Masersods awesome Rami? Maybe it's the modern beauty of Dan's GTS?. I'm delighted to say that beauty lies not ony in the eye of the beholder, but in the imagination of what has been and will be again and so...
Congratulations to Bal. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I wait with baited breath to witness the unveiling of your glorious Khamsim.
Most highly regarded car - non-Maserati.
Okay, this one ain't difficult. It's a car I think we've all adopted. It's a car I think many of us secretly lust after and it belongs to someone that, as evidenced by the posts in his weekly posts, we couldn't be happier for as he returns it to its rightful pristine condition.
Congratulations to Enzo and Florence. Life is indeed good.
And the big one..
Sports Maserati Forum member of the year.
Your nominations have recognised Frank for his endless research and Andy for his continuous and long standing commitment to contribution on the forum, but in our inaugural year this rightly goes to someone without whom none of us would be here. Probably about a year ago one person (along with other disaffected souls) decided not to sit on his @rse and not to put up with an overly single-minded situation. What we enjoy for free costs this person time, effort and considerable cost so...
I trust you'll all join me in congratulating Matt. THANK-YOU!
Finally we come to two awards not nominated but rather directly related to the thing that makes the forum what it is..... POSTING!
For his continuing and consistent posting, his endless enthusiasm and record of contribution and his evident affection for all those with whom he 'converses'...
Congratulations to Andy. I can genuinely say the forum would not have been the same without you.
And for a weekly post count that genuinely beggars belief and that may not be matched again we must doff our caps to the one who's fingers do the talking...
Congratulations to Dem. And you don't even use short-hand!
As for the delivery of the awards, This will be a combination of post and / or awaiting our next meeting. Please bear with me as I need to gather addresses and calculate postal costs, but be assured there's a lovely range of gifts awaiting you.
With warm congratulations to all recipients and regards to all,
Miles.
