I think that’s a bit unfair. People have, with best intentions, been trying to advise you on how to manage your purchase.

There is a revolving door here, many come, buy a car, struggle with the cost of items they were unaware of, and then disappear. While you seem to have the tenacity to see it through, the good folk of the forum were trying to save you from the fate of others.

You will see, there are plenty of people who will go out of their way to assist you without expecting you to fail.

It's both. Having an opportunity to give someone advice is great. Seeing a potential disaster unfold (although not in this case, as it turns out, obvio) is also delicious.

Plus the joy of being outraged (at the dealer) on someone else's behalf is considerable.

It was the perfect storm of forum invitational.

You young impetuous fool you….I remember when I was a young virgin forum member back in 2010 when we had to huddle around the phone light to keep warm, posting day and night to stop my fingers from seizing up hoping and dreaming of being the top poster forever. Being able to boast to friends that I had achieved something in life. I was on cloud nine, no one could stop me…I was invincible…..Then one day a new pretender walked through those forum swinging doors and my dreams of mortality were shattered. He didn’t care about my dreams, he didn’t care about my posting he had his own dreams and a Maserati. My fall from grace was quick and I feared the worse ….Would I be welcome to tread these hallowed threads again, would I be ridiculed, an outcast, seen as a leper, would my Good Morning thread be seen as a joke and pulled down never to be used again…But no, I was welcomed back in with open arms and my foolish dreams never spoken about again….be careful my friend it is great to be up there but a long way back down…Let me give you some wise words that was given to me in forum rehab in those troubled times..Be careful what you wish for as you might get it all and then some you don’t want…

I’ll give you credit where credit is due, you’ve blown me out of the water with your post rate, and I haven’t been shy since I joined in early May - but the old guard have been here since just after the dinosaurs went extinct so there is still a long way to go ;)
