Sourcing a QPV rear suspension spring please

I have been working through my cars removing all the wheels and coating the suspension and subframe (where fitted) with a liberal coating of ACF-50 using my new air compressor powered spray gun. It’s working great as it creates a very fine mist and it can penetrate hard to reach areas.
However, I’ve noticed a broken suspension spring on the rear (QPV 2007 auto). I’ve read a thread on here saying they’re £73 each but when I look online they’re £311 each. Am I missing something here please?

Maranello show it as a kit for £367 show I imagine that is 2 springs. It would make sense as changing just one spring is not really normal practice. Or have a look for H&R springs

This is correct, did one last week. Usually Maserati springs are about £50 each but this model year we paid similar price.

Get that lower shock bolt soaking and work it in small amounts back and forth or it will pull the threads.

The 2 rear springs arrived today. I’ve removed the rear shock fixings but I’m not sure where to unclip the electrical connector to the shock. I think it called skyhook. But the black electrical cable from the top of the shock appears to run backwards towards the boot. Mine’s rhd and I’m working on the drivers side shock first. I’ve looked between the battery compartment and the area towards where the shock connects at the top but the access is poor and I can’t see where to unplug the connection.

Anyone know please?

It’s going to be behind the boot lining, near the top of the strut.

Indeed. Disconnect the wire first and don’t remove the shock, if you drop the shock you will strip the cable and that will be expensive.

You need to remove the side trims which means tub and floor out and the rear trim.

The roof and tank covers stay.

I cleverly reversed my car right up against the garage wall then removed the wheel, which means that access to the boot is difficult.

I have removed most of the boot trim and I am now faced with a black metal plate bolted to the rear of the luggage compartment (separating the boot from the rear seats). It sounds like this might be the tank cover that you mention? However, I still can't see the connector!

Thanks for the advice so far and also the warning about the shock dropping and stripping the wire.

It's at the top of the strut a mall black covered wiring lead with a small connector.
Look in line with the strut from outside and you will be there.

The skyhook wire is only about 6" long if tha,t so if you can see the top of the shock it cannot be far away. The metal plate is in front of the tank yes.

I have replaced rear shock at home on drive outside my house - twice (then twice again).
DO nto remove the black cover on the fuel tank. Reach in and feel for top of the shock, following the wore back.

The wire to shock has a connector clipped to the body. Pop the whole unit out of this clip. Disconnect and tape string to the end joined to the shock. You will need this to re-fit.

If you are committed to removal you might loosen the top mount fasteners , which will let in light from the wheel well. Might help you see the wire.

Do some research on disassembly, there is more than one way to skin a knuckle.

I do end up removing the black fuel tank cover in the end. The connector was very well hidden behind a thick fabric covered wiring loom, which itself was secured to the body by a cable tie which needed to be cut to expose the skyhook connector!

Here is a photo in case anyone in the future is in the same position as me.

You just have the Tuesday car there and not the Monday or Friday one.
