Excellent news, now if they can fill in the potholes and lift the manhole covers to the level of the tarmac............

May not be going up in January but it's sure going up right now.... In the last couple of months have we not noticed a full 10p on a litre?

I paid £1.42 at Tescons in Stratford yesterday.... UNBELIEVABLE! £6.45 per gallon I think they are trying to get us to a £10 gallon next year; how is this any way to help the ecconomy recover?

Its £1.29 a litre in my local garage (Total) cheaper than Tesco in Purley
Mas is empty and stuck on drive waiting for a new radiator hose - it will have gone up again by the time I can get it to the pumps

Pop to Tescon and take them up on their offer of 6 bottles of Voddie for the price of 4. Bung it all in the tank. It's cheaper than their forecourts......

£1.28 here too which means at least it's not gone up since August, small mercies.

What can we do?

The only option you have is to go diesel and run it on veggie oil and evade the tax. Its cheaper than diesel but you smell like a chip van.

As for petrol, what alternatives do we have other than LPG?

Ethanol, homebrew, would vodka actually work????

It's a great read Matt thanks; makes you wonder why we are still being held to ransom by oil companies.... Ah yes bit like the 'weed' argument - We mustn't let the little guy know he could make it himself as how could we possibly tax it then????

It's a tax cow & we can milk them dry forever and they'll believe us as long as we don't tell them there's an alternative that is, sustainable, carbon neutral, less poluting and whoops I havn't got any shares in!
