A few better side pictures for you Shak, the wheels are GranTurismo Tridents, but i'm not sure of the exact colour.

Hello all, I had my wheels redone whilst by car was with John at GT cars in Warrington, I'm sure he knows the correct colour codes.

Yes it's a 2008 4.2 Gts, it's the same one that was being talked about in the for sale section a month or so ago with the marmite interior. I suppose it's Maserati's take on dark and sinister.

It is sort of up for sale, a friend of friend had it on his forecourt but to be honest I missed it and also I'm not sure now is the time to sell it just before Xmas. So I'm using it and loving it again.

Ah right...I was confused as your friend still has it for sale on his web site.........Don't blame you not selling...Very rare QP and def the best 4.2. They don't come up for sale often....There is a silver one for sale at the moment that is also very lovely.

Another QP owner with their 2p worth. I have several black cars and personally I am anti dark wheels on a black car. For me (and please don't shoot me - each to their own yeah) the darker the wheels the worse it looks on a black car. I do, however, agree with dechroming (or blacking out) some or all of the chrome around the car (e.g. window surrounds and door handles). However, for me the wheels are where you have to stop - the wheels for me need to be contrasting.

For the record, I love black or dark coloured wheels on cars in other colours (e.g. white, red, yellow, blue and so on) - just not black!

Again, just my 2p worth! ;)

Maybe its an age thing, but i liked the original silver better, they blend in too much for my liking in the grey. I like the blackening touches on your car though, its nice overall good job.

Thanks Davy.

I wasn't at all sure about hiding the chrome on the front grille, but used a product call plasti-dip which is a rubber coating spray that can be peeled right off without damaging the underlying chrome.

So far I love the blacked out features - on a car with the size of the QP the whole look makes it look even more imposing but elegant at the same time. Even aficionados sometimes mistake this Sport GT for a Sport GTS.

Shak the car looks great you have made some really subtle mods without going OTT - I see you did the tail light conversion to LED's where did you get the
parts ?

Also interested in the LED's bulbs for the number plate etc

Everything he said !

Wheels are a major part of a car's aesthetics, just look at an F355 side on and see how wheels make the whole thing come together.

Now imagine them in black....
