The single item that got me back into hifi was a pair of spendor speakers , they sound like no speakers I've ever heard before and I've tried a lot over the years , celestion, mission , mordant short , focal

These S6 are in Christchurch

Mine are S6e , don't know what the difference is, I set them up, chose a track and sat there gobsmacked , all night I was playing music

If they go for anything like the £425 start price they're a bargain

The guy that repairs my hifi is a proper audiophile

When I first met him this was his setup , obviously no woman in the house

I asked if I could listen to it but he wouldn't play any music for 10-15 minutes until it'd all warmed up , let's just say even in a detached house his neighbours probably thought a rave was on the go

I was just looking at his for sale page

He's selling a pair of JBL horn speakers for £25k

Moving On :D

I've just picked up an Edwards Audio C2 Pre-amp and a P2 Power Amp, I had a talk electronics storm 2 a few years back and regretted selling it

Never say never :D just found out if I split the quad up it's worth over double what I paid for it so I'm thinking to try the edwards audio out and if I like it sell the quad and the spendors and use the money for newer spendors

Chaps - some advice, please.
In the study I have a pair of Linn Ninka speakers (with stands/feet), actively powered by three silver Linn power amps (2 x LK140, and 1 x LK85). I bought all this new, about 20 years ago, used it sparingly at first, but probably only a handful of times over the last decade.
I've decided I may as well sell it. What’s it all worth, and where is the best place to advertise it (Ebay?).

I would join this Facebook group and from there join their selling age, it is in my experience the friendliest audiophile group around.

I have had several pairs of Spendors and like the sound but it would also be worth auditioning PMC.

I’m not a social media user I’m afraid, so don’t have the Facebook option.

You could call Jon at Ripcaster as he does quite a bit of used Linn and may do it for you on SOR (most of his used stock would be part exchange but he does get customers for this sort of stuff so may take it on and I assume you are in no major rush?).

Without question you'll get the most money on eBay but there is an element of risk the buyer won't be happy
LK140 £300-£400 each
LK85 £150-£200
Ninka £200-£300

If you can post them and have the original boxes they'll make top end but if it's collection only they'll make less, wait for a £1 listing weekend on ebay , £1 instead of 10% per sold listing , you'll still pay the paypal fees though

I just searched completed listings on eBay , a shop selling them with a warranty would get more
I'd think

Yeah, exactly what I would have done. Still surprised. My Viennas appear to have gone up in value since I bought them. Very odd
