Size of windshield washer fluid reservoir?

According to the owners handbook for my 4200 the reservoir for the windshield washer fluid is 6.5 litres.
Is this correct? I'm asking because the warning lamp went on but I could only fill approximately 3.5 litres before it was overfilled.

On many cars the bottle is much larger if they have washer jets for the lights... is yours without them?

Nope, we have the high pressure head light washers.

Yeah, but I waited 10 minutes but the level was constant.

That sounds like a good explanation. Any clue how much fluid that remains when the lamp goes off?

That would be 6.5-3.5=3L

Yeah, that kind of math can I do myself. But isn't that quite a lot left? Like you would have the gas warning go off when at half tank. ^^

Well you did ask the question I’m sure it’s a faulty sensor or measuring device, but then with Italian cars you never know, maybe they had some weird logic, like the necessity to electrically drop the middle rear head rest ??

From memory and looking at the parts diagram the level sensor is about 1/3 of the way up?

Exactly. I had a Alfa 75, and the best way to tell how hard you were accelerating was to see how much the fuel gauge dropped. Also the warning light for washer fluid was shared with the brake fluid.

I used my washers so infrequently on my Gransport I never saw the light as it was topped up at every service.
