I've pinged the Vitaphone team to see if we can get some pics of the MC12s backstage either before or after the race

That didn't work, but at least you all got there by other means!!!

Shame I missed all the fun, Brenda and myself pottered around the track to get some different vantage points of the cars in action. We then had to slope off early in order to get her to Stansted.
Still, I'm pleased to have at least got to the Folly + Silverstone, this was my first Maserati 'event' in a long time. And the car is running well too, she racked up 400 miles today and didn't miss a beat. Even plod left her alone. :)
Good to meet some new faces today too.

When's the FIA GT Spa leg? ;-)

ps - big thanks to Bigfoot for the spare ticket, much appreciated, I owe you one!

We got ourselves settled in in the Luffield grandstand. Rather a chilly day but very exciting. Thought the GT3 racing to be very good with plenty of action going on around us. The GT4 was a bit dull after the pit stops as there wasn't many cars and they had all spread out. Then came the GT1's.
Wow and that's an understatement.
We were following the Vitaphone cars but the whole race kept us on the edge. What happened to car 2? After 45 mins it started misfiring did a couple more laps and retired, we only got a brief glimpse of it on the monitor.
A few photo's of the GT1 action to follow.
Saw a few Maserati's parked along the fence by the exit on the way out and recognised Loz's.

Car 2 had a few probs Keith, and ended with a puncture 6 mins before the race end and didnt quite make it back to the pits for a tyre change , definately turned a cold miserable day into an exciting one

Cheers Loz, we thought it was a puncture but as the car was misfiring and moving down the field we weren't so sure.

Whilst talking with Andrea Bertolini in the workshop before the race , he said the best they could hope for was about 3rd , the MC12 had been penalised with an 150Kg of extra ballast shame really

Once again, sold on another event, looks like you have a fantastic time.

I was away with the wife as it was our 7th wedding anniversary, and we had 2 40th birthdays doos last weekend, and every weekend lately seems to be jammed.

I am free a bit now. The good news is that the wife has sort have agreed to come to Bristol next year but there are conditions, that I will explain in its own thread.

Thanks for the pics!

Chaps, it was great meeting you all! I regret Luke didn't enjoy the dodgy hamburg he ate and we had to take the family back home before seeing a single lap of the race. Really gutted, but hopefully better luck next time!

Finally got to look through the 150+ photos I took yesterday!

...don't worry, here are the final two I am posting...

Question is, who nicked all the cars?

and I agree, even the rigs look nice from any angle :p
