Do you know what.....I have no idea where all that debt will go! Maybe they'll develope some hair brain scheme to make it disappear or defer it for 10 years then deal with again later down the line

I just don't know anymore as it is so far out of whack it really doesn't make any sense. When nothing makes sense how can you make sense of it. It is so f4cked up that normal rules or any rules don't apply.

Debt bothers me but it doesn't seem to worry some people. Some people seem to think it is OK to come into the world with nothing out go out with less. Let the next generation sort it out as I've left the sh1t storm behind me so I'm alright Jack.

It has been done with monetary things, the planet/environment and all sorts. We have really lost the plot as a planet in reality. However what does that all actually mean? How does that translate into how we live, work and operate.

I used to think people of age, of experience, of seniority and people running the country mist know what they are doing. It transpires that this isn't always or often the case. J3sus!

I think we have some big issues to deal with and they won't go away forever. The environment is certainly.one of the biggest as well. That could be the one that forcibly changes all.

Must break all the rules to maintain the Ponzi...
I love the hilarious “temporarily” comment.

One day the penny will drop and everyone will see that what these bankers have created has destroyed their lives- then they’ll be made to pay.

Agreed Delmonte. I also agree with much of what Wattie says but maybe not as extreme or convinced.

Like you say I'm amazed it hasn't come crashing down already as it should have. The fundamentals are all wrong, the foundations are wrong but somehow they are still plugging the leaks.

I wouldn't be surprised if it fails and carnage ensues and by the same token I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to keep plugging the holes. Wattie could be banging this drum for 5 mins, 5 years or 50 years. Nobody can know or tell how it will play out.

All I know is I won't be betting my mortgage on it either way. I am trying to position myself as partly invested but kind of hedged if it goes the other way. If you have £50k sat in a high interest savings account at 1% you're earning £500. It is too difficult to earn that in two quick trades with not much risk in a week or two.

I'm going to dabble in nothing too risky and at price points known and tested with known ranges and play within those. Today I've bought back into the 3 banks a little. At the current levels if they tank they will return in a year or two. They are unlikely to go bust and will likely get bailed out if they do!

The swings in the ranges are anything from 10%-50% in fairly short timeframes so the volatility can be tricky but mostly just reading candlestick charts, finding ranges and using some typical indicator tools. Getting in and out inside the ranges and not getting greedy. Just nicking what I can when I can and back into cash again until an opportunity arises again. It won't make me rich, won't support a full time income but is a little part time work that should do better than it sitting in a bank earnings not much.

And it's fun , most like a little bit of knife edge scenarios , that's why we bought Italian cars

We still have physical available, insured and vaulted. pm me if interested and I’ll try to assist.

Cheers wattie but at the moment I’m just playing within a pension so it wouldn’t work. Went into the GBS Gold Bullion Securities thing instead (meant to track the spot price).
By the way, that Bloomberg article you posted? Why on earth are central banks like Russia stopping buying Gold now? And won’t that depress the price?

And are you expecting a divergence between spot price and true trading price of gold?

Spot/trading has already diversified. Huge difference.
Russia’s an odd one, still trying to figure it out although some have suggested it’s to help broken supply.

Am I the only one who thinks the environment will take a bit of a back seat after this?
You're probably right although it really shouldn't. We seem to bounce from one crisis to another and not actually resolving any of them fully. Sounds like my working days for the last couple of years!

Trouble is there will be less importance placed on this and less cash available. Funny thing is the benefits all round come from improving our environment position.

If thats what it takes to that fecking Greta off the box , ruining our lawns and putting the fear of christ into our kids then so be it

I think the overiding theme at the moment is that physical gold is the only truly safe haven ..................... it will fair and wont lose you a fortune , but has the potential to add 30-40% if it reverts to previous highs of $2000 plus

I have a Tally account, I use to buy Euros when the pound/euro exchange rate is low., when it is high I use pounds. It seems to be fairing ok at present.
I should add I don't change large amounts, just enough to top up my Italian account for bills etc. and a bit of spending money.

Here you go DW, beyond physical. By the way I’m not a trader so I have no shorting skills.
If I did, hotels, cruise ships, holiday companies, restaurant chains, leisure complexes, casinos, banks would be on my list.

AML going down the pan!

Are we saying they werent going down the pan anyway , or is it entirely down to this lockdown which is the final nail ................how long would they have lasted under normal conditions ...........would the Bond film release have made any real difference ...........or would they have continued to build more cars at an even bigger loss........................food for thought ................though not a nice thought to see another car maker biting the dust

So if I want to follow the price of physical gold, where can I see it if not the spot price? Does it follow the spot price, but just trade higher?
Or is it more unpredictable, ie when you sell it do you more or less auction it?

What did she do to your lawn, m8? Genuinely curious

She was prat of an organised rally held in Bristol ( ironically a week into this crisis) fortunately it was a really rainy day and they all got soaked ( because of the global warming we now have more rain in England) anyways these eco warriors all thought it was a good idea to hold their meeting in the park in Bristol city centre ( our city of culture no less ) the sculptured lawns and flower beds were totally oblitterated .............all in the name of saving our planet duh :suicide:
