LOL.....it wouldn't surprise me if most of the world will try to carry on as if nothing has happened soon enough. Little will change until the next implosion.....just a little sooner than the gap of the last one.

Don't laugh but I bought some bank stocks yesterday! RBS, BARC and LLOY. I'm sure medium to long term they could give a good return better than other options. Who knows?!

Honestly I dunno what to say. You’ve lost 5 Range Rovers worth and you’re relaxed? In fact you’ve been praying for this situation?

I am sat with kg’s of physical gold and am sh1tting myself.

You haven’t grasped the severity of this.
You are potentially witnessing the collapse of the entire global financial system.
Your cash might be confiscated!

I’m frankly stunned.

:) isn’t that what people said in 1987, 2000, 2008 (and every 10years since the stock market exists)... “the world is going to end, capitalism is dead”

i am more of a cool headed investor who looks at this as the opportunity of my generation and hoping to double my networth over the next 5-10years.

different risk profile I guess

Look - most states are starting to control and limit the testings... what does it tell you.
the fed made $4Tn available to the market... Real numbers are going to be kept down to limit hysteria as much as possible while the situation is developing

For the record - every year 1.3m people die from car accidents, 1.2m people die from malaria and because they are from poor countries nobody cares sadly.

God i remember that youth outlook and spirit, come easy go easy , Good on yer mate , trouble is the older you get the more concerning it becomes to keep hold of what you got , as every other bugger and the government are trying to take it with you , there is a quicker way at the casino but you have to drive a Golf

Anyone watching the oilers or miners?

Royal Dutch Shell has halved in value since December, yet their assets remain.
BHP pretty much the same.
BP not far off.

With the Chinese about to start the cogs of their industry whirling again, these are surely oversold?

I’m still struggling with the concept of letting 70% of your portfolio freefall so that 30% can buy low.
The far larger part is getting worth less and less as markets fall......how do you “time” when to invest the 30% as the market the might continue to fall? Drip feed down.

There’s no guarantee that markets will return to previous levels- is there?

A tad more would be nice , but i'll probably bottle it come Sunday and on Monday make the call to cash up
It really depends upon how much time you have on your hands. On the weekly chart, price is PROBABLY going to reverse against you short-term

However, on the monthly chart, there MAY be a bit further to go:

Price tends to reverse at the lower end of the Keltner channels (the wavy blue lines). However, nothing is certain, and this is particularly so when the markets are as crazy as they now are!

As a PS, it always makes me laugh when people say that the referendum decision ruined GBP - just look at the established downtrend on the monthy chart. NOT making a political statement BTW, just chart analysis!

Good luck!

Yes and, once again, Gold has taken a beating:
As have bonds:
As has the yen:

I reckon MaseratiGent is busy typing up his new best-seller!
1.2%’s a beating?
Nearly 7% in 30 days.......what are equities at?

Flog me all day long!

Can I suggest those interested in this stuff start listening to this American chap. He sometimes goes a bit “excitable annoying American” but he knows his stuff. He’s been pretty much spot on re this fraud for years.
Re my comments above on the systemic issues he explains them here. Worth a watch

Oh, he’s a Maserati Ghibli driver too- I pm’d him to join.
