What a beast!

I took this photo at ARM, my local Maserati specialist.

Hey JP, been a while, you obviously got my email?

The Shamal does look great, l really like the muscular front and rear quarter panels, only thing I don't like is the odd cut out for the rear arches, just thinking, why?

What an object of beauty that is, an absolute delight! This one looks in great shape too, especially for a car from the early 90's

They do look very nice but I never got my head around the rear wheel arches as they never really looked quite right to me. Overall I prefer the Ghibli, especially the cup.

Love the Shamal. I agree on the rear wheel arches, though they doesn't look as out of place in the flesh. It was a bit of a styling cue at the time, as they did the same with the QP and the Chubasco concept, but interestingly not all Shamal's have those arches; some have regular arches.

The rear wheel arches are a Marcello Gandini signature. Same shape as the Countach and Diablo.

Would love to storm up to a middle lane hogging BMW 3 and see them take fright at that looming down on them...raw power, few if any driver aids...don't even think they had ABS...a riot in the wet I guess! Just looks so agressive when compared to the Coupe.

lovely piece of gear...

I love Gandini's rear arches, actually...

there's some great footage on Enrico's pages of the Japanese contingent who really take the Shamal seriously and have made a few subtle mods to really round them off for modern eyes, so to speak...

I too love the rear arched on the Shamal...really gives it a muscular stance...
