Probably less cost in repainting the underside bit of the spoiler and the bit you add is sacrificial. Makes sense if you live in an area with high kerbs or speed humps.

A replacement front splitter for mine would be the north side of £3k, so a sacrificial thingy sort of makes sense.

It’s much more robust,and if you have a carbon splitter it’s a very costly scrape if you damage
