Sat Nav misdirections

I love and loathe the sat nav on my 4200 - love it for its quirks in keeping with the Italian character of the car, and loathe it for the less useful directions it sometimes comes up with.

Why does it say 'In three quarters of a mile, turn left' when the turning is under 200yds away, as confirmed on the screen?!

And a personal favourite I heard today coming round the North Circular near Hangar Lane, 'At the fork, go straight on!' Priceless!

The fork in question is obviously a trident! The easiest way to solve the problem...... turn the sound off, I do!

I'm sure it will make a lot more sense if you switch the language setting to Italian.
I've got mine so that it has a close up of the junction when you approach it. With this there is a gauge on the right hand side in yards (I think) that appears to be quite accurate. Stops me taking the wrong turning if there are 2 very close together.

When I first used the sat nav the other day, the default destination was Modena! It's like it wants to go back to its place of birth!

I was up in Dem's manor yesterday and was trying to get into Green Dragon Lane when it could have told me to go left but instead it took me straight over the lights, right, right and right... and back across the main road I wanted to be on! Doh!

Still stretched it's legs with a blast to Norwich and back after that; fabulous...
