Royal Air Force Brize Norton Families Day 12th June 2010

Just casting a rod for interest here. RAF Brize Norton, (Oxfordshire), holds its own families day every year, 'behind the wire', for Station Personel only. Therefore no usual air display crowds but still the usual Red Arrows, Spitfires lots of static aircraft etc. A few exclusive car clubs are always invited to park their cars in an area on the air-field, obviously secure, and the owners and partners enjoy a very exclusive day looking around the camp. All the large military aircraft are open for you to look around as its only serving RAF fellas showing their families around.
If there is enough interest shown on this thread then I can arrange for as many Maseratis to have an exclusive pass to get onto the unit and park up for the serving 'lads' to see our cars.

Sounds Great to me Spike , and a fun day out for all, im sure you will get some good interest , unfortunately i will be away at Le Mans on that date feel free to bump it up and give it some front row from time to time

Would have loved to mate, but unfortunately, it falls on the same weekend as Le Mans, so thats me, Loz, Parisien out for a start.

Just giving this a nudge if you don't mind, little bit of interest shown so far and I don't think it would be worth organising unless I could guarantee at least 6 cars to give a decent showing. I will arrange passes at main gate before hand etc so smooth entry , (oh...er Mrs !!) Lets try and support "The Troops" !!

I am a day or two out of date but up for a baloon decent if it can be sorted ??Spike or maybe HAHO

BANANA.. I will add your name to the list 'next door' as do not want to start 2 lists going. Regarding runway blat. Total non-starter I am afraid, there are currently 100 classic cars attending and a very hectic flying display planned with various aircraft taxing about all day. Our Air Traffic Controllers would have 'kittens' if they also had to worry about a bunch of testosterone filled, high performance car drivers, blatting up and down their runway.

RAF Rozzers need it well in advance. Going to be a great day, Battle of Britain Memorial flight with the Lanc, Red Arrows, Falcon Parachute display team, just for Banana !! 90 other classic cars and no public. Doesn't get any better...oh yeh ..its all free! But only if you get these forms back to me.

Spike needs a few more Maseratis so if you are thinking about attending the Brize Norton bash please let him know without delay as he has to arrange clearances etc. A quick email only takes a couple of minutes but will buy a lot of admin time.
