Well, the tales of woe dont end there Loz, we had a drama of a greater magnitude on the way home, and hence why I have not been around today.
All was going well, and Rachel and I spent the best day ever walking round Honfleur, even the loud brute that was SimonM driving up the narrow streets with his flaps open only made it better.
We made it to the ferry and as we were driving up the ramp, Rachel got a call and one look at here tear streaming face I knew something was very very wrong.
Our youngest, Freya who is 6 had taken a bad fall, and was paralysed from the waist down. The paramedics and ambulances where all at our house and had administered morphine, so you can imagine our anguish.
As a result, she was carted off to hospital, and then after a fraught 30 mins of phone calling, we lost signal due to leaving port, only knowing that Freya was on here way down to xray.
This was one of the worst 3 hrs of my life as Rachel was in one **** of a state and had shut herself away on the lower deck sobbing. The worst part of it was the absolute helplessness situation of what was going on.
In the end we asked the ship that we had to make an emergency call and they managed to patch our mobile through to the satellite.
Thankfully the paralysis was only due to swelling around the spine so thank god for that, but it makes you think. Rachel has said she is not going away and leaving the kids again, which is a real shame as we both enjoyed the France trip immensely.
Freya has now been discharged and is making a fair recovery....poor little lamb.
