Reverse "beep" - where's the module?

Hi, it’s an LE with (I assume) factory reversing sensors. As you say, I need someone else to put it into reverse whilst I try to pinpoint the source!

Can anyone with a GS confirm whether they have the loud beep in that video?

Hi I’ve just got mine out the Garage and checked what happens when I stick it in reverse, and I don’t have the same loud long beep.

There is a short loud beep and then the much quieter reminder beeps, as per the videos below

That’s super helpful - Is the short loud beep confirmation that the rear parking sensors are working?

Make sure the reverse t-bar / lever is returning correctly after you have selected reverse.

Also if you need a new parking sensor ones from a BMW E39 are the exact same and available cheaply.

Yes, cars with no PDC get a reverse engagement bleep, but no distance warning.
Those with PDC get both the R selected and them the distance bleeps.

In fact I believe if you get the warning tone for a fault you loose distance warning automatically.

I had the opposite problem, I couldn't hear the reserve beeping.
Earlier Gransport's ( mine is 2005 ) had the beeper installed in the passenger footwell.
Later models it was repositioned under the rear parcel shelf.
When I had the interior out for a heater core change, I relocated mine to the handbrake console.
