Clearly a man without an excessive drinking habit ... Steady hand...;)

No actually, made a right mess of it but the beauty of the inset red lines is that any paint that goes on the front of the badge can be easily wiped off…

…Giving the impression of a steady hand!

I can assure you I have an excessive drinking habit

Things I’m trying to figure out today:
  • Why the USB socket isn’t working.
  • Why one of my keys doesn’t work remotely (battery change didn't work).

You have to switch the USB on in the NIT. There is a learning process for the keys IIRC - handbook.

I firmly believe that there is no perfect car. We love them for their foibles, idiosyncrasies and imperfections. Maserati seem to have many of these! I love them as it gives me a chance to tinker.

Unfortunately neither of these worked :-(
I can see the Aux in the options to turn on but not USB. The USB does (slightly) light up Green and will actually charge an e-cigarette but it won’t charge a mobile phone…. Does anyone think replacing the USB socket will fix this or is it just never going to charge a phone?

The USB is not a specific charging socket, it's a connection for the NIT. To charge a mobile phone you have to use a cigar lighter adaptor.

So when it says ‘powering the connected source’, it doesn’t mean charge it up?
Seems weird but wouldn’t surprise me with Italian electrical logic..
