I suppose it depends on how power hungry your phone is. What phone is it?
I thought the same but have tried a few.
iPhone 12pro but I’ve tried the wife’s 8plus and kid’s 6s… maybe it just doesn’t like Apple

Most Apple phones need more current than 'standard'

It's almost certainly the phone refusing to charge as opposed to the USB socket being broken.

The USB socket puts out 5V at around 0.5A. A typical smart phone needs at least 1A to charge. Maybe more if you are actively using it. The screen is the biggest drain on a smartphone.

So if you use your phone plugged in and not use it, it will charge very slowly, the more you use it the longer it will take to gain battery charge. It's a simple input versus output sceanrio.

A cigar socket chagrer is typically 1A to 2.5A output which allows you to charge your phone whilst using it.

Nicely put, thanks It’s just a shame I’ll have to use the old school cigarette charger

My CarPlay charges my phone just fine. This is the best of both I suspect.

As does mine. However the implementation of the USB spec (originally 500mA limit) has altered over the years....

Car play is rather a lot newer than the original USB standards......

opinions please:
  1. Re-spray (gloss black) the mirror caps and door handles (they weren’t done properly when sprayed before I bought it)
    OR
  2. Install carbon fibre mirror caps & handle covers

Wheels are gloss black…
Side skirts are carbon fibre…

Delivered today, just trying them on!… I love the look.

It looks like they’ll take a bit of faffing to align them perfectly (mirror caps mainly), does anyone have any advice on this or care to share their experience?
I’ve bought some high-temp lacquer ready for the exhaust tips project so I might give these carbon caps a light spray to give some extra long-term protection / shine…
