No dem, you are not the only one.
Renault went through a bold phase and the Vel Satis & Avantime were very radical cars ...so I loved them too.
Only drove the Avantime though, back in 2003; a 3 litre V6 auto version and is was smooooth!
It got more envious looks than anything else I've driven.

Had some experience of RenautSport over the years, though have only owned one - a Clio 172. OK but not brilliant. Of all the RS models I've driven, the Megane R26R is the one though. What a scream that was to drive and the rubber just wouldn't let go of the road.
Superb.

I drove one of the original Clio Cup racing cars at the Palmer circuit. 6-speed sequential gearbox was somewhat primitive but the experience was a hoot, thrashing around the circuit in a light nimble little thing. Made me feel like a real racing driver!

The Williams Clio was a great car, the only Renault 5 worth owning was the Turbo 2, the GT Turbo was rubbish, quick 0-60 and great round corners but that was about it. I blew the turbo on mine a few times due to driving flat out on motorways for hours on end.

Trsut me, having a brand new GT Turbo as a company car in 1989 at 20 years old was far from rubbish! Anything that needed fixing was paid for by the company, I just had to drive it!

Renault Espace

A van with windows! - yuk
I do not like French cars at all, my dad had a 16 - ugly car with column gear change, turned out to be a cut and shut - although you cant really blame Renault for that

No personal experience of Reault whatsoever.... Now I suggest Peugeot for the next subject as we seem to be working through French cars first!

I've had 3 as company cars and currently run a Peugeot Partner van when we get the thread started I'll spill the beans!

I had a black Renault 21 Turbo, a real "Q" car.
Continually overheated though, and it must have gone through 3 clutch cables.
Arrrh memories !

I bought my dad a Scenic a few years back. It's a very cleverly designed car, but I'd rather die than own such a thing...

Dem & Maf. No to both of your identity questions. The guy who owned the Porsche was the archetypal yuppie. He paid five grand over the odds for the car to skip the waiting list. Got carried away with money and he eventually crashed and burned. I haven't seen him for many years.

OK 2b1 here we go....I've had a Peugeot 206 1.9 a mad car! and an 405 Mi16 which I did 200k in 4 years great work horse. So, my experience of Peugeot has been good but anything after Maserati & Alfa seems so boring now.
