Rear brake caliper pin completely stuck

Hi all,

I'm trying to replace my rear pads and having some real trouble getting the pins out. Fronts ones where no problem at all. With great difficulty I have managed to get the top pin out but the bottom just won't move at all. I'm using a 4mm and various other pin punches and a hammer, just like I did on the front. Lubricated and used brake cleaner before hand. I think I may have damaged the caliper too much now to go any further though. The head of the pin has completely flattened now. Is there another way or something to try or do to get this out? Or is it time to just get a new caliper now?

That is impressively stuck. I’d probably try a pin punch and cut the knackered one out behind.

Sure the caliper will clean up.

All sorted. I clamped mole grips tight on the middle of the pin and started rotating to loosen up. Then hammered the mole grips to push the pin out and it worked a treat! :) I would recommend this method if anyone else has the same issue in the future!
