Have we discussed this one? @MarkMas friendly interior. And I like it too, my favourite wheel style.

Yes, not sure how to link it but it was pretty recent, ‘Moving it on’ was the thread.
Looks a really tip top example.

It seems a bit mad that a GT S is (apparently) worth TWICE what an S goes for.
Mark, if someone could work out the algorithm for used values they would be a very wealthy man. In this case, I might suggest that the factors are; last of the QPVs and considered the ultimate version, only 60 imported ( still over 50 here licensed or SORN'd) so only one or two to choose from at any particular time. The more common MC Stradale seems to hold values better than the 'regular' GTS for a similar reason. The really weird ones are cars like manual 575 at 350k vs 100k for an F1 or a manual 550! I spoke to a Classic Merc Specialist about selling my exceptional 560 SEC. In 33 years it has covered 150k miles with a fully documented history. If it had 50/60k miles on the clock it would be worth twice as much, even if not so well sorted! The market is full of anomalies and some very dull cars worth a lot of money. Thankfully lots of Maserati are still affordable.

That was always my detraction from buying one and why I ended up in the XJL SS. Just sold the XJL SS recently for £15k that was a 2010 with 70k odd miles. I would have loved a QP GTS but could never justify the premium over other similar options.

"Similar" is doing a ton of heavy lifting there...!

In terms of cost of ownership, a QP V Sport GT S is a good bet. If you can get one that's just been serviced, it'll go 2 years before another. Residuals are rock solid and unless you put mega miles on it you'll sell for what you paid for it (minus dealer mark up).

It’s worth it just to get rid of the ugly S front grill Mark. :) It’s an odd looking thing with its slats curving out instead of in. Probably why lots of S owners look to put the GT S grill on the front.

So Dicky firstly has a beautiful Ferrari Cali T in stock, which I can't afford but would absolutely love.

Then now has a really nicely specced QP GTS which I would love but not look for a car of that ilk at the moment.

Makes me wonder if some better specced cars are starting to hit the market again.

If this is the one I think it is, it's a lovely, lovely car and I was fortunate enough to be driven in it about 4 years ago. At the time it had a red steering wheel, looks much better now in black. It also had the picnic tables in the back! Not seen many a GT S with those.

Agreed - looks lovely and good value compared to what’s out there.
I bought mine “privately” although Conearo gave me some confidence. It’s been super reliable so very happy but I guess I need to spend some money on prep like the interior plastic as that is in bad shape in places and the rear arches are quite chipped which somehow this car or others that dicky has had don’t seem to suffer from

I would suggest that unless protected by ppf film or some such protection ALL QPV’s will have the chipping to the rear arches and this can be passed off as ‘patina’!

If there is no sign at all, and no protection, it’s either already been painted or the car has never been above 30mph, or done no miles I would say! Mine has it too (64k miles now) but as potential issues go on these it’s not a hugely expensive or difficult fix. I guess sticky button will eventually happen to even the most concours ones at some point too.

It’s a striking, classy and individual combo this one. What a car for 35k, especially against the prices of new cars these days.

Chipped behind the rear door, or in the arch itself? Both get peppered.
