Prindiiville exhaust

Hi All

I've been reading a little about Prinidiville exhaust systems - does anybody have a part or full Prindiville exhaust on their car or are familiar with others who have fitted one, whether it be to a 4200 GT or another model?

What is the throttle response/performance improvement like? And is there a nice sound improvement without being outrageous and boomy? Worth the money on upgrading?

Look forward to hearing feedback.

Cheers...

Not cheap. The tail pipes look similar to the ones I had on mine but they didn't cost nearly a grand. Looks like that are making a pretty standard, albeit well made, aftermarket system and pricing it to undercut Larini and be comparable to other performance systems. IMO, a similar result can be achieved a lot cheaper.

They seem like comparatively good value. The stage three setup with back boxes, sports cats and exhaust manifold is the same price as just the Larini sports cats, and not much more if you include them fitting. Hmmmmm.....

www.prindiville.co.uk. "Implement" an exhaust..? Surely "fit"..? Elaborate words aside, it's a nice web site but looks like a lot of money, even if it is about on a par with Larini.

What is the main reason for thinking about a new exhaust? More noise (if so HOW much more?), more power? Worth giving Noor from Performance Italia a shout. He's a sponsor on here and is pretty familiar with good ways to get the results you want. Marios at Autoshield also has a pile of experience and could probably offer some good advice on how to optimise the results potentially without spending out on a full exhaust.

iv looked at this site. it seems they are inflating normal prices of items you can just get your self and claiming they are 'custom'. look at their wheel range, none of the wheels have makes or models. i even rang up once and the guy told me they are custom made.

Yeah, the wheel photos seem to be from different sources (manufacturers?) and some of the pages talk about things custom for the car, but seem to show generic parts, which is suspicious...or just lazy.

Good to read the feedback. I thought it seemed fairly good value compared to Larini, although Larini is the Rolls Royce of upmarket performance exhaust systems...

Which exhaust systems does Noor supply/fit? Would be interesting to know what systems are on cars that have come from Noor and what people think of them...?

Are Quicksilver exhausts at the higher end of the decibel scale?

As it seems there aren't any owners around with Prindiville exhausts, I'm hesitant about exploring it any further - its good to hear about others experiences before buying. Unless Prindiville want me to provide a test car and to feedback on the forums.... ;-)

If money was no object, is the general opinion that most would opt for a Larini system in terms of quality, performance and sumptuous sounds...?

......and, unfortunately, a lot of drone and boom. I'm not too sure Mark (MAF) is overjoyed with his Larini rears and there have been a few that have gone back to standard.

..oh so Larini is not really the be all and end all then....

Coming from another angle then - is there a system/combination for the 4200CC that sounds similar to the GranTurismo exhaust?

Trial and error is the way forward as everyone has their own idea of what they want their car to sound like. Pm MAF260 or Emtee and ask their opinion of Larinis. I would suggest you convert the front end of the exhaust from 4 high resistance cats to 2 200cell high flow cats and experiment from there. There are several threads and some video kicking about the forum as to what does what. Have fun and let us you know how you get on. If you pm early next week when I am back in the country I can give you a few pointers as I have done quite a bit with exhaust combinations.

Great thanks Benny I will do that. I've just been on the Performance Italia site - I must say the various Larini options sound very tempting, but am now slightly wary having read you post regarding the boom and drone...I guess it depends on the combination fitted...

Like I say, give MAF260, Emtee and Conaero a pm and ask about their personal experiences with Larini. There are undoubtably lots of guys out there who think the trade off is worth it for the sound they get. However, I don't want you to be disappointed having spent a lot of money and ending up not enjoying what you have bought.
