Funny, I'm kinda glad the old girl does not have the ability to display mpg........add to that I'm too **** lazy or thick to work it out and I'm a happy bunny!

I topped up, then drove a fair bit and topped up again... though just the once, I wonder... and worked it out... just once though... never before or since... ;o)

When you use a Maserati as daily driver you tend to notice even boring stuff like mpg. Over the last 95,000 km my 4200 has been averaging around 18-19 mpg, with a lot of motorway driving (cruising at anywhere between 80-100 mph). The GTS, which I've only run for about 3,000 km before winter broke out, seems to be some 10 percent more thirsty (which sounds about right, given its 10 percent bigger engine).

My 3200Gt had dead reckoning done once at made about 13mpg, from 90 litre fill up.
The QP showed twenty something (26?)once, but only when I was trapped in 50 mph M1 roadworks heading to the NEC. Was bored to had a play with the buttons and reset the trip. That was my first real drive after buying the car.

Mine is normally 15-18 and on a long motorway run over 20. Cost of fuel is tiny compared with all the other expenses for running these cars (and TBH, most other cars as well). MPG never entered the equation when I decided to buy a Maserati and I guess that is true of most, if not all, people on here.

Headline figures are meaningless and I'm sure there are a lot of boring cars that in reality are in the low 20's. I know which I'd rather have...

I know someone uses his Vito van as his daily driver, he doesn't need a van for work just prefers driving one. It returns 20 mpg. I know which I'd rather drive.

Mpg if I had to work out spent over £1k in petrol driving to monaco and back. detouring on the way home driving route Napolian probably about 2.5k miles. flashed two times by speed cameras but got away with that. So that's not many mpg from that trip. But lots of fun.

I did not even tot up what I spent on fuel for the Modena trip, with all the 'spirited driving' we did it would not surprise me if I was down in single figures, but what a hoot..!!

Managed 30.3 MPG on a 80 mile round trip. Avg 56 MPH, so comfortable cruising speed :) Then give her the beans and went down to 14 :)

So which motorway has got a 40 mile section of average speed cameras? Surely that's the only reason for that sort of driving in a Maserati!

M1 south of Sheffield. Unfortunately, there is indeed an incredibly long stretch of average speed cameras. Hateful, but it's 'only' about 20 miles long from recollection.

Had the QP V on a 500ish mile round trip, mainly A9 from perth to beyond inverness and around that area.
Was shocked to be getting 26MPG...........(there are average speed cameras all the way)..............normally around 12ish MPG when a mixture of driving is the usual.

on the last 2500 miles of my GT 4.2 ownership .. I averaged just over 25mpg...(several long motorway trips... )

and just under 30 mpg on the last 250 miles..

been getting 17mpg out of the replacement on mixed driving and about 23.5 on a motorway run..

be very surprised if it is below 19mpg by the time I get round to resetting the trip recorder... Though I'm still driving everywhere on the paddles right now..

Worst ever shown on my QP's computer for me was 9 mpg on a spirited drive on North Wales with Benny and his mates. One of my top 5 best drives ever.:numberone:

I give mine the beans daily, but its refreshing to know and also to put the "accountants" to bed, that even the biggest of names can get respectable mpg at a good speed.
