Evening all.

Is there anything that can be done about the chrome finish plastic coating coming off of the handbrake button and air vent surrounds ?

Air vents, esp the one closer to the door are of a very poor quality...best just to scrape it all off.

If it's for the 3200, Bill had a solution of replacing them with stainless steel or aluminum made clones I think.
Personaly, I saw the price and tought it was way too much.

Probably better to just have them rechromed at a professional.

I restore a lot of these parts on the 4200 models. Rechroming cost is almost as much as a new part

Would like to renew mines but not at the cost of new parts.

Thanks Chaps - sounds like scraping to me. Probably only looks bad as its patchy.

Sounds like the fact that I'm club handed and impatient means I'll break them getting them in/out anyway.

Jluis, I never restored the front grill or trident. But the vent I could do all six for $100 and they will never get sticky again. This doesn't include the chrome ring. The chrome ring on center vents (4200) is only removable from behind the dash so I Dont mess with them. The outer vent is to much to rechrome so you either buy a new one or scrape the flaky chrome off and keep it black. Send an email for more details...Larry35661@msn.com,,, thanks

Any way to replace or rechrome the handbrake button? It has been on my to do list since i got the car but i always forget to ask about it as i don't tend to look at it very often!
