The IMS and RMS issues ran until about 2009. So if the car is earlier than that, you might as well fit an upgraded parts while you're there.

The great Porsche cover up -1996 to 2008. Denial of any issues with IMS/RMS, bore scoring despite many horror stories.

The bearing on mine is fine it's just a o ring and the seal that need renewing.
It's not a five minute task and I have to invest in the timing kit to do the job.
My engine has the later bigger bearing the downside being to replace it means a total strip down.
I have read many articles on this and it's quite rare for total failure of the bearing.
Missed services and poor workmanship cause a lot of the woes.
I'm going to do the job like 911 Virgins do as the car is very healthy otherwise.

The news from Eastern Europe is so distressing and some little ****** has burgled my best mate’s OAP mother. Thankfully she was out at the time. Can’t begin to imagine what it would be like to lose everyone and everything you hold dear for no good reason, other than someone else’s crack pot ideology.

I needed something beautiful to look at to restore my dopamine levels, so woke this from its winter slumber.97156
