Heavy rain, speed and wide tyres that don't disperse water very well = aquaplaning, though the highways agency have their part to play , I was in a traffic queue on the M6 in Birmingham , crawling in the outside lane for about 3 miles , every one of the drainage gullies was completely blocked and looked like it had been for months
