When I lived in Essex I often went to Arena Essex to watch banger racing, they had one race which the grid was made up of only Rolls Royces.
A bloke who was standing near us said "this shouldn't be allowed, smashing up Rollers is sacrilege".
My brother said "they're probably all rot boxes so I wouldn't worry too much".

On literally the first corner, one was punted up the rear and ended up in the wall at the first corner where the wings disintegrated, the front axle practically gave way leaving the car effectively with only 2 wheels.
Obviously he still carried on!

Is that the banking? Looks like just before the chicane and the bridge over the top is the old banking.

Yes. I think almost all of it does to some extent. It’s actually the middle of a park now. They do use bits of it

The Monza banking still exists and was restored around 2010, last used by the F1 boys in the early 60s but you can an idea of the scale from this vid that shows the Monza 12h racers parade around it
