The 1970 XJ-S prototype, signed off just before designer Malcolm Sayer died - don't be fooled by the 1965 number plate, it was just lying around and used to give an idea of what the finished car would look like....

It was scheduled to be launched in September '73 but took another two years to come to fruition, I think if it had appeared at the right time it would have been looked on as something rather special a lot sooner, rather than as a replacement for the E-Type which is was never actually meant to be, despite what some people said at the time. In a strange way I think the 1991 facelift made the car look even more futuristic....

I joined for fun and it certainly is that as I put my correct age in that's what I see rather than teenage girls.
