So there IS a retaining strap. Mine doesn't have it so very first pit stop, I stood there like a noob with it in my hand whilst I filled up the tank.

On the eurospares forum (http://www.eurospares.co.uk/f7/forum_posts.asp?TID=2428&PN=1) it says that the cap is the same as a 2008 Fiat Panda - a somewhat cheaper replacement.

Cheers

Ha! In the grim days at the end of the 80's I bought a 'post production' Fiat Regatta new... It had basically been cobbled together from parts on the shelf, some were upgrades and some bits were 'not required Sir'! like the fuel saver to cut the fuel on engine braking; that gave it a lovely cracklly burble.

If I needed any parts for it I had to take the part in to the stores so they could match it to Fiat, Lancia or other marques as they could rearly find them on the microfiche...

Oh yes and the engine used to jump around so much it would snap the exhaust every couple of months so I ended up making my own straight through with flexible to the back box!

Got to love Italian engineering

To be honest, I am not sure. I would have thought that the best way to tell would be to check Eurospares and see if its a different part number.

Just bought a replacement cap with strap (not sold separately) through **** Lovett for about £28.
