Now the car is coming up for its 2nd B'day I'm thinking of putting a plate on it to disguise the age of the car.

Don't want to spend fortunes and have found GT54 DAN for about a grand all in.

What do you reckon? Good plate or naff plate?

Will it hide the age or make it look eight years old? Either way, always been a number plate spotter! Love it!

Had a similar thought in the past couple weeks myself. Thoughts on CC04 MAZ or MM04 ZZA on a CAmbiocorsa 4200 or just leave the poor girl alone?

Dan I am assuming you will space GT5 4 DAN

I am not so sure it works for me, looks like its trying too hard. If you were to have it as GT54 DAN it looks better but the 54 does indeed make it look older to the uninitiated.

I have a mate called Dan that has D8 NNS which he has spaced D8NNS that works. I think you should keep looking for a bit more before you commit as you will own this plate for life.

I'll have a hunt round too for you.

Also if you have a GTS related plate, when you change car your going to be a bit snookered.

My Triumph Stag is JLA77N that I have owned for 26 years this year. A few years ago bought N77JLA for £250 all in from the DVLA, that is on the Maser now.
Does the job, looks quite nice, easy to remember, and does look quite cool when both cars are together!
Cheers

Prefer a low figure, smaller letter combo than a name .........DAN 1 would of course be wow.......................but your fav no....plus 2/3 letters....is far classier on a prestige GT than a name....IMHO

PS Or as your in the Solar panel business......get Sol Campbells....SOL 1!!

I have A91 DAN on the Lotus, which I think works ok as it's a fun car.
Take the point about needing to be a bit classier on the GT. The GT54 DAN plate could either be considered to be fairly subtle if not illegally spaced or it could be considered cheap... Which it is :D

My initials are DCA, so 123 DCA or DCA 123 might be better types to look for.

You could always space them out and it would look like GTS 4 DAN, or you could look for your initials. My Jag has my initials preceded by 50 and that looks OK. Plates are quite personal, but you can always sell it if something else better comes along.

DVLA also has a whole host of M something DCA at lowest price. How about M100 DCA or M 500 DCA each at £255?

if you get a private plate then it needs to be either about the car or you, if about the car it would be better selling on, if your name then you can transfer to each car, with this plate unless you get another GTS it may not work to keep. on selling you may get knocked down on the price to keep the plates

just my pennies worth

Dan, if you pick something that means something to you but no one else it can be cheap.....Mine K33 WEL (My name being Keedwell) was only £250 from the DVLA as not many want it but it's perfect for me.)
