Although my car is no different than one of any 5 Series, E Class, or XF; and the Diesel versions at that. I continued to be surprised at the reaction of other road users, or passers by, both positive - a young woman came up to me as I was leaving the shop at a filling station to tell me she loved my car and she thought it was 'gorgeous'!!! I was surprised to say the least, after all as I say it's just a 4 door exec car and hardly an Aston or Ferarri, or even a Grandurismo!!!
Then there are the other extreme, such as on Saturday driving to Wandsworth. Another driver who didn't want me to pull out in front of him even though he could only continue one car length, and I was pulling across the road to go in the opposite direction. He told me to 'take my Maserati and shove it up my F---ing A--- !!!
In one respect Maserati should be pleased at the brand recognition!!!
Unfortunately animosity is still alive and well, but at least the compliments heavily outweigh the insults...

He sounds like a young man with anger issues, or perhaps difficulties finding loving companionship. I hope you suggested that he try deep-breathing and other relaxation techniques.

Overall my experiences are much likes yours - overwhelmingly positive. It's a joy and a privilege to own a Maserati.

I should have told him that if I could perform a magic trick like that even David Copperfield would be impressed!

He will do that a few more times until someone gets out and teaches him some manners.

Watching the likes of that Derren Brown chap and David Copperfield on TV is always quite good fun, but I suspect that even Channel 4 would draw the line at "Keith Making a Maserati Disappear Up His Ar5e". And I don't think I'd be alone in not watching it. I wonder how it's* resale value would be affected? "As seen on TV."

* the car, not th ar5e

Its amazing what can be done with smoke and mirrors these days. However if the audience wanted the Ghibli to reappear it would take one **** of a laxative. A couple of bowels of All Bran just wouldn't cut it !!!

Certainly gets lots of attention and comments. I have just literally 5 minutes ago, from my office, watched some random guy spend ten minutes walking round my car in the office car park. Thankfully didn't look like a car thief!

I've had a couple of instances where people have followed me into a supermarket car park, come over to me and say, 'I've been driving behind you, what a lovely sound etc' and start talking to me about the car. And then you get people stop doing what they're doing to stop and stare. It's 'only' a Gransport and not a super exotic like a Ferrari or Lambho but it gets a lot of attention. Think the colour makes a massive difference and the Med Blu really stands out, especially in the sun, but also the Larini's. All in all, I f'ing love it!

I think you're right about the colour. My 4200 gets 'some' attention. All positive, mostly small boys and those that know something about cars. The GT, though, seems to make just about everyone's jaw drop. My kung fu master was literally speechless

I have to admit that there isn't a day go buy when someone doesn't hoot and put a thumbs up to me driving the QP and comment when I pull up in it, doesn't happen with the 911, but does with the Chevy, I just enjoy being different.

Came back to my car to find a full blown photoshoot underway with two young and very polite chaps who were into photography of cars. All reception by Joe public has been overwhelmingly positive. There are some people who just don't get it but they generally are guys with no direct Maserati experience who consider themselves "car guys", but I am not convinced.

Quite funny as they often say "why don't you get a proper car like a 911", and are a little deflated when I tell them I have one and love both for very different reasons :)

Thus far every time I've filled the Maser up someone has said something nice about it.
Small boys always smile when they see and hear it.

One guy at the supermarket asked to see the engine.

One of our neighbours who previously I'd not spoken to came over to speak to me after seen me pull up in it.

All good. Something I'll never get bored of.

Apart from one looser who actively tried to block me in merging lanes, but I just blasted past him, everyone has been complimentary.
I had one guy hanging out his car window while driving looking at the side sills.
One woman left the note "Gorgeous Car" under the wiper. Never had that happen before.
But that's not as good as a mate's 458 he receives female business cards with the message call me written on the back. This is not popular with his wife strangely.

Then she needs to up her game, clearly. It's a free market, tell her. I find it extraordinary when people are so keen to stifle competition.

Jeez - you guys actually speak to the public? I refer them to my secretary when they ask about my car.

;) :)

It is lovely and part of the ownership to make others smile. I have wondered a couple of times why someone was tailing me, only to realise they had their windows down and were listening to the car.

One tip...
If someone won't let you pull out, and you have done an exhaust mod or two, put the car in neutral and give it a big rev. I have made the person refusing to let me pull out stall their car on two occasions. Haha.
