Where do they think it was heading? Russia? The guy that serviced my Navtrak unit told me that there are many cloned cars in Russia, maybe as many as five cars with the same plate. Merc,BMW etc being the favorites.

Not sure but I've heard that with Russia as well. The Navtrak people were very helpful and wrote letters to my insurance company.

Took the new girl out for a 5 hour round trip to my sister's, all went well to report, steady 80 nearly all the way a very smooth ride , just miss the cruise control that was on the QP but HA HO, surprised how easy and a pleasure the drive was.

One pain in the ar$e thing I have found is that you can't open the boot without turning the engine off, but Ha Ho not the end of the world.

I miss not having external remote boot opening, but that's what you get for buying a very early 4200.

I thought all 4200 key fobs had a boot opening button. Well, you live and learn.

Funny, I thought all 4200's had the same type of key, Catman, are you sure that is the right key for your car..??

Yep. Cos Meridien have sent me a new one, which is rather cheaper than the two button type. It's black, and has one small button on the edge as opposed to the two, reasonably sized ones on the 'face' of the blue key.

That sounds like a 3200 key...???? Might be a question for Maserati themselves just to clear this up, try Maserati Classiche, see what they say. Give them the VIN and they should be able to tell you.

Maserati required the VIN before they would issue me a new key. Plus copy of the V5 with owners address etc etc. I'm sure it's the right key, and Dicky seems to concur :)

As to the retrofit, Meridien suggested something like £1100 in parts. I'll open the boot ;)

Probably cheaper to sell yours and upgrade to a newer, more modern, car with features.

Indeed, Benny. That is the medium term plan. GS, or maybe even a GT in a couple of years. :)

Somebody had fitted a remote boot release to my 3200 before I bought it. Just a button on a fob, made life so much easier than opening from inside or struggling with the key in the boot lock with shopping etc in hand.
