number of owners for a 4200

HI Chaps......wanted to pick the collective brains of all here ......have a been to see a v nice 4200 (52 reg), in my perfect colour scheme, 55k miles on clock......new clutch 8k miles ago (lancasters), new F1 pump last year(grimaldi) .......was sold to current owner by Nuvola (and I know they generally only sell tidy examples) .......my question is this .....there are 7 previous owners listed on V5 .....should I be overly concerned by this? (my heart says no....but my head is saying yes)

Hi Snazza, If you have the VIN, either a Maserati dealer or indi' should be able to check the database to see whether there have been any issues that aren't necessarily shown in the service schedule and receipts. Might help give you some comfort?

7 owners is getting on for 1 a year. What tends to happen is people get shot of them when jobs need doing, so the next guy has to pick up the tab.

As the others have said above, if the history checks out and there is no evidence of clocking, then it would not put me off.

The only cars I tend to steer clear of are London cars, by this, I mean, cars that have sat on the London Streets, crawl around in traffic (clutch) and basically get chips and knicks all over them, door dings etc.

Owners not a issue...Thes cars can change hads after a year or even 6 months when they were new...........Condition and history first...

Selling might be but if your happy while you own the car then dont think bout resale....

Remember you will get a 'list' of some degree with any 4200 inspection. It's just a case of working out what is reasonable viz a viz the purchase price.

understood .....I have a 'first 3mth remedy budget' in my head already .......so unless something catastrophic shows up we should be ok

Would suggest using the "list" to negotiate a hefty discount rather than splash out your own war chest!!!!
