Now looking for a Gran Cabrio .....

Well after thinking of getting a 4.2 GT I raised my budget to a Granturismo S , tried a couple and very nearly bought a low milage Auto .... But in my heart I do love a Convertible so budget raised again :- ( but after looking behind sofa emptying all my pockets my max is now upto £48k ( been told by wife that is enough to buy a toy ) as after that i need to find Holiday money lol
The thought of an exotic Maserati that all the family can go in without a roof so you get all the benefit of the awesome sound is very appealing :)
Cheapest I can find is £50k so I am close , I just need to find a Private seller ...... although not that many Gtancabrios about.

I did try a Bentley GTC for a comparison ( probably the only car similar ) , a real sense of occasion , exquisite interior , unique sound but in my eyes not as attractive as the Maser and I found quite a few stories of random mega expensive repair issues like wiring probs quite common involving big strip downs and £5k repair bills !!

So the hunt is on again , wish me luck :)

There were some wiring and hood fitment issues but these cars being circa 5 years old will have had it all sorted. We all know the GT/GTS is a very reliable car with no horror stories on the 4.7.

I like the Grancabrio however the boot space is really terrible and makes it difficult to use for a Euro trip etc.

That's the truth. The boot is pointless, but the car looks lovely and would make a fantastic tourer.

Good luck and I'm sure one will come along soon enough but you had better be quick before the sun comes out and the prices rise!

It's the main reason why I didn't buy one. Everything else stacks up - rarity, retained value, looks, noise, exclusivity etc. But if I can't go away in it for a 2 week trip to mainland Europe, then it limits the appeal to me. That's me, mind, of course others don't have the same requirements.

Having owned a fair few rag tops the only thing I can add to what has already been said is the rear seats when the roof is down... The ride in the back is very uncomfortable due to the vortex of air making it cold even on a warm day...would not travel more than a few miles outside of city driving in the ones I have had.

Spot on. Having owned a few I always view a 4 seater convertible in reality as a 4 seater coupe or a 2 seater convertible if the wind deflector is in place.

I have had over a dozen convertibles so well used to the drawbacks , and the Grancabrio has more room in the back than any other convertible I know :)

Kids winge a bit when in the back of the Stag at any sort of speed with the hood down too.
They tend to hide under a blanket, there are options!

I ticked the options box to be childless some years ago...saved a fortune on that costly option!

Great video...and watching that still makes we want to have larger paddles. I wonder if a MD can supply them?

My undersized paddles seem to work ok. That said I think FD offer a large carbon paddle upgrade for those that need it!
