No place like home

Well, the new forum has been up and running for 6 weeks or so and pretty much all the issues are ironed out (a few fixes are still ongoing).

Posting and member login is back up to where it used to be. The Who's Online at the bottom will only max 60 mins and not the 120 mins of the old forum so thats why it flirts around 40 members on line over the 60 or 70 it used to be.

Does it feel like home again?

Remember, if you have the dark theme selected (3 cars in the header) we did a lighter grey style more like the old forum, you can select it in the footer where is says: SPORTSMASERATI DARK and select LIGHT.

For the nostalgic, you can see the old forum here for a while before I take it down, posting has been disabled but you can access your old PM and grab your signature or avatars: www.sportsitalia.co.uk

It took us a while to shake off the ‘LM-effect’ this year... good to see traffic back where it should be, but I sense more room for growth yet.

Matt, again, thanks.

Thanks for you kind comments, I wasn't looking for them.

For me, any major change in a website looses that intimate feeling but this new place does feel like home again and gazing back at the old site reminds more of an ex girlfriend....great times but we've moved on.

Looked at the old site from your link and it appeared to me to be bland and dated. Yet at the time I was impressed with it. This 'new' site is far far better. It is brighter and more colourful
Well done and thanks, now what can we do about the contributor's............................:)

While I do like the look of this new site, I cannot help but say it appeared that I got more updates on a regular basis from the old site. Since the migration it dropped to almost nil.....just sayin'

Yep, I do the same when there is a perfectly good breadcrumbs link at the bottom. The logo click to home does still work but only on the logo and not the car image.

I'm getting used to the new forum it's definitely good to keep up with new software vbullitin was getting quite long in the tooth so it's quite good to have a kudos system and better integration between users when quoting eachother - the long term effect will be that there will be more posts on the forum and less PMs because we can summon ech other directly in threads

I think this time of year a lot of people are either on holiday or working hard... with the nice weather the masers are on the road so less posts about maintenance. I have a pokey garage with the cold winter I only recently have been doing quite a few odd jobs on the car that involve lifting it on axel stands so have some content to post up when I get round to it... plus more parts on the way and I have to get it all sorted before my 2600 mile road trip in September!

It's amazing how you get used to new stuff so quickly...

On another note, It's still a shame we can't access all that lovely old stuff from the now defunct Maserati forum, maybe one day!
