Nice Road

Just had a few days in Yorkshire and came across the A170 at Shilton bank. First thing I saw was a sign saying 132 HGV's got stuck there last year, then no caravans allowed and finally a 25% gradiant. Well I couldn't help myself from using it evertime I went out in each of the 4 days I was there.
Day 1 going up got stuck behind a sight seeing volvo at 20mph grrr! On the bright side I found an empty back road down again.
Day 2. Clear road and heaven.
Day 3. Thick fog and behind a transit. Took me 2 seconds to get past it on the vertical!
Day 4. Only came down but it was mostly clear.

The A170 is a great road. Haven't done it in years, but used to when doing the Leeds / Scarborough holiday run. Blooody dangerous though.

Only ever done it in my mum's car years ago, oh and my Disco3 a while back. Must be good in a proper car.

It is! I was up there 3 weeks ago in lousy weather; fog, rain and strong winds, following some Porsche 911 thing. A 'must try it' road.
