I'm very sorry that I misidentified you, especially in this time of diversity, equality and inclusiveness. I'm glad that you're a certified cnt .

And rightfully proud of being it.
Should I have a certificate? I have always just answered to it. I never knew I was qualified. Drat (swear filter), should I be asking for a pay rise now?

Which means la france will get it again next year but by then, they won't be so keen to tell the world about it. Face it, the french (apart from paris) have been in recession since 1945 and all they try to do is drag the rest of the Western World down to their pitiful level. The only time the french show any excitement is when fresh bread is made, or when someone threatens their farming/fishing quota. It's such a pity they didn't put on their yellow vests between 1939-45.

they get the last laugh at us tho, sitting across the channel rinsing us for electricity to effectively subsidise them.

So what? By off-loading all their illegal immigrants on us saves them enough money to buy votes. Just because you bailed out on the land of your birth, doesn’t mean you are any more french than I am. Stop banging on about how great france is, just because you ended up living there.

Why’s that? Do you feel the need to support a fellow leaver? I get fed up of ex-pats telling us all how wonderful their chosen country is while running down the Mother Country. You’ve both had at least 2 goes of making it in foreign lands, after giving up at home so no, I won’t back off.

I'm not an expat but an immigrant and happy to have been granted residence in the Countries that I have gone to.
Could even go somewhere else just don't yet what might unfold in the future.
Never say never.

Crack on but, when you get there, you don’t have to keep telling us how wonderful it is. I, for one, don’t really care.

This raises a wry smile - I know quite a few people like this - zero compassion from me but no doubt we will all be paying for their stupidity soon

This is exactly where so many people go wrong. Times are hard but they can’t give up the material sh*t they don’t need.

People were slagging off Kirstie Allsopp for saying that people can’t afford a deposit for a house as they can’t give up Netflix, coffee and gym memberships.
But she’s spot on.

When people can’t pay their bills and go bankrupt they’ll claim it’s the governments fault but will still be watching the latest Netflix series!

On a similar theme have you seen the American food bank queues?

I find it a bit odd that they can all afford cars but not a meal.

That is true in some cases Geoff but the way the silly house prices have gone in this country some low earners could sacrifice all their treats and still not have enough money for a deposit on a house.

That image was used in a covid food-bank queue story in 2020. Still not good, but not as recent as might be inferred.
For accuracy, queues are back if you check the U.S. press from 2 days ago. Recent enough? Albeit linked to inflation with more arriving on foot as fuel hits $5/gallon (average).
