Sounds like either an actuator or possibly an abs module, might not be so serious but could be, needs a diagnostic check.
Well.......
Got the new car and ****! The way it accelerates, the way it handles, the way it looks, and most of all, the sound! WOW
I got it at around 11, took me a little while to get used to it (Not saying I am competent yet but I am getting used to it slowly.) I brought it back to my house via a small twisty piece of road, it was absolutely stunning, I felt the steering was a little light, but the whole car felt good.....real good! I got it home followed by visits by almost all of my mates, all of whom wanted to go for a drive in it. They left dissapointed.
I went to my lunch date at about 130....car still running beautifully, except the ASR Off light was on and stayed on.....It actually happened earlier in the day....I put it into sport mode then Error came up on the dash too! =( Either way I just kept going very slowly to lunch then out to Brisbane airport to pick up a friend who had just arrived from Tas.....that's when it went downhill real quick!
On the way to the airport, I noticed that the battery volt meter on the dash was at 10.......not a good sign, thinking it was just one of those other things I kept going, as everything was working fine on the car. Got to the airport shut the car off to open the boot then the thing wouldn't start, came up with a padlock looking light on the dash. After a few mins of sitting there quietly the car started and we headed home.....car running perfectly, still no battery volts but it was running......Turned the corner onto another main road and every error light on the dash flicked on then went off, the speedo and tacho stopped working, and shortly after that, I had nothing, no power, no brakes, nothing. Pulled up in a quiet side street and then the car wouldn't turn over, and got the sound of a flat battery (Clicky noise) when I tried to start it. I let it sit for ten mins, then we push started the car and it was back to normal again......
I made it 3 mins up the road till it stopped again......That was it again, everything was dead, I pulled up in a carpark called a tow truck and had it towed to Automotion......It didn't over heat, no nasty sounds came from the engine when it was not revving, it just idled......I turned the key off as the accelerator had no effect on the car what so ever. Interestingly enough, after letting it sit, the car did actually come ok again, gauges started working etc.......not quite sure what's going on but the boys should be able to work their magic I hope without costing the earth.
It is still very impressive and I am madly in love with her.....just a little frustrating when it happens on the first day of ownership....lucky I wasn't out of town I guess.....
Either way that's the day.....It doesn't affect the way I feel about the car, its perfect but just a little glitch I guess.
