Hi Guys, I have owned 3 Alfa Romeo in the last 10 years. 156 TS, GTV V6 and now 156GTA. I'm now actively looking for either 4200CC or GS as a weekender (will never sell my 156GTA)

I'm Still not sure if I should import one from UK or just get one locally. I have put a deposit down to a local car but subject to inspection check so hope it works out.

With import process, not sure if it is difficult or even worth it due to the duty& tax over here as well as compliance cost.

My criteria is it has to be Blue with light interior(Avoria)

Hope to get some advice from you guys. Cheers and great forum!!!

Hi Abyss,
I recognise your user name from the Ausalfa Forum.
There is a group here in Melbourne that have imported various models from the UK.
There are a few GS amongst them, so just a matter of catching the right person to talk to.
Will get in touch when I am back on the computer rather than the phone.
Love your 156.
Stephen

Hi Abyss
I just imported my from the UK and I figure I saved somewhere between 18000 and 25,000 over the same car locally after al taxes etc and it was fuss free so I think it's worth the effort. I had the advantage of being there on business so I was able to look at a few cars and choose.
If you want to Private MessAge me I can give you my number Happy totell you whatI learned but it was pretty easy. Took about three months from start to finish. Cheers Geoff

Thanks for the PM Geoff. I just remember I saw a car similar to yours in LEisure sports vehicle in Altona. Is yours red leather interior?

Lovely cars...WHat a nice little collection of Alfas...........Is the GTV a Cup or standard car with Cup kit.....I seem to remember Alfa bringing out Cups in different colours other than red outside the UK market

Thanks guys for kind words on my Alfas. the GTV was a standard car and I put Cup Kit on recently. the car was in really bad shape and took me 10 months to restore it.

I still prefer my GTA over the GTV. Anyway I sold it 2 weeks ago.

I'll definitely be a regular poster.

Just thought to post an update that I'm the proud owner of the 06 Black GS from Nuvola. Nareman has been great to deal with.

Sorry to all UK members that another GS is going down under.
