Not for everyone I guess, but I like it. A new take on an old classic.

I have to say the Audi tail lights are starting to grow on me, they have a meaner squint to them.

But this video has made me aware of its flanks for the first time which, especially the lower flanks near the door sills, look like a Lexus 460L :f7:

Rubbish video to sell a car, but the girl is nice. I quite like the look, but seeing it in the flesh is going to be the decider..!!

Don't think it's a car you would buy for the looks, it's just a bit to generic BM, Audi, Jag, but the soundtrack would sell it, that V8 is still the best sounding engine out there.

Most large saloons are getting the same sort of makeover these days, trying to appeal to the mass market. The QP advantage is the engine and the sound, but it still has to satisfy the needs of the large saloon buyer. As large saloons go, it's not that bad a looker.

Nice face, shame about the @rse sums it up for me.

The sound and Interior looks descent too and maybe, just maybe, we will get a Maserati with a descent Bower Wilkins sound system in it, not that Bose rubbish that is in the GT.

I also understand the nav is touchscreen too, welcome to the 21st century!

Hum, now you see, that is exactly where the Italians (and the French to a certain extent) have always bucked the trend, it irritates me how they have fallen into line with the Germans, suppose its all about sales and money, not passion and soul nowadays.

Same style of rear light on this, GT and G-Cabrio, I know what you mean about the grille and that will probably get a modification, or you can spray the verticals.? These things tend to grow on you a bit..??

As Yeti says, Andy, the QP looks rather generic in its design. Although a different colour might suit it better it's becoming formulaic in the way of many market sectors; remove the badges from a lot of cars these days and you'd be hard put to guess their origin due to their similarity, and that's a shame for a niche marque with a truly sporting heritage. It needs something other than a trident and V8 soundtrack to tell the world that it's a Maserati, especially with a c£100k price tag, and for me it's not there.

It would be nice to think that the Ghibli will redress the balance somewhat, but Transatlantic collaborations haven't exactly hit the spot over the years regardless of the players and, I don't regard the (alleged) Chrysler contribution as particularly thrilling.

Hi Matt,
Still not working in edit..Once you have typed in to the edited section, you can try to click on..Save, Go Advanced, Delete & Cancel....none of these do anything apart from light up, they do not trigger any action at all.
As I am typing this post, the editing box is still on screen above where the original post should be and will not go off until I come out of this thread I think, I will try it now.
Cheers
