Just checked the other SF forums and they all seem either new or deserted? Can't see how these forums will complete with the existing marque forums already up and running, and healthily subscribed? MF sticks out like a sore thumb as the only one with any real database? One to watch.

Miles,

This new group of forums (should that be 'fora'?), seems to have piggy backed the MF style onto other marques, as a seemingly fresh new enterprise. All other marque 'forae' (anyone remember any Latin from school, I didn't do it?) is fresh and needing input.

In the USA where there is a huge posting populace compared to the UK, even the likes of Ferrari forums (?) tend to have one big hitter, one significantly less active one. In the UK with our far smaller posting popn., it may be a bit of a struggle to compete with established marque sites. I wish any new enterprise well, we shall see.

Dem...........words , for once, fail me....................but at least you are planning to use women dressed as schoolgirls & not school girls dressed as schoolgirls. tell me , during your research today did you happen to find any other simelar websites.
it seems to me that maybe , just maybe, someone else may have thought of this. i could be wrong. perhaps you could change the theme of your restaurant and revive the old 80's " school dinners" restaurant.
I bet you and your old man have been hard at it all day researching this.
you need to get out more Dem.

Thanks David, that would make sense. They really are going to have to work hard to attract posters away from already established Fora. They have a head start with MF, but the others? Hmm. I hope they have deep pockets. Regards, Miles.

Dont know why , i expected a bit more of a flurry on MF seeing as its the first day, new broom and all that , but maybe 3 more posts than normal , new owner seems to not have responded to all the gestures of goodwill , HOW HANDS ON IS THAT certainly gonna win people over like that not , i fear that its a another aloofness and owner /administartor not perticipating re lack of enthusiasm for the marque , just the beginning of another cash cow , if thats the case its doomed

regards loz

I can't believe the new owners have not introducted themselves, it's like opening a new restaurant and the chef not turning up on the opening night, makes you wonder why these people bother to start a business!

To be fair, I think we should give the new man a chance.

What he has done, bringing all the prestige marques in under one brand in their own standalone forums, is a great idea, and as many of you have pointed out, the other forums are new, and it is going to be an uphill push, but not to say he might succeed. The benefits are, that the advertisers will get advertised across all the forums.

I have contacted him and offered to meet us with us, with the view to 'bury the hatched' now a certain owner has now passed.

Sportsmaserati came about because of said user, now he has gone, I think we should all shake hands and move on.

Matt is absolutely right about this. I fully support the conciliatory tone and content of his message. All members should be encouraged to follow this example..........

Thanks guys. Dont get me wrong, my home is here and will continue to support it 100% and will probably not post much over the road but I do read it now and again, and when someone has an issue that I know 100% what it is, I feel the urge to jump in and help them regardless of forum.

thats what we are about..not competition just helping people out...when i need help people bended over backwards to give me that and thats what kept me in ownership....

must do the same for anyone else regardless of forums...hopefully new owners will be alright with us also.....we can go from strenght to strenght together....

Paul I think you may have a point, maybe we should all use this as a point to draw a line in the sand and forget the past as that era is now over and concentrate all our efforts on helping the new owners make the forum a place for maserati enthusiasts like ourselves. Well done Matt for offering the hand of friendship.

I would agree completely.
Its a good opportunity to have a complete break with all that has gone before.

Looking at MF it would seem that Jamie (Jaffa) agrees and will restore all accounts.

Cheers
