Hi Ed,
My manual says TUTELA BT for the electronic automatic transmission. Have never tried to lay my hands on any though, so not sure how easy it is to get hold of. The Alfa dealership in Heaton in Newcastle have the recommended Selenia Racing Engine oil, so they may be worth a try for the recommended gearbox oil too...
My manual also lists the auto gearbox capacity as 4.0 litres.
These were on pages 160 & 162, but may be you've got a different manual? ;-)

Hi there, very nice 3200. With regards to the oil cooler, make sure they both have a large washer in the coupling. To change the Aux belt, you have to disconnect them, and these washers get dropped and left out. This results in the joint weeping.

Hi i spoke with JCT600 in Leeds who said he gearbox oil is TUTELA MATRYX oil, i then spoke to Alfa dealer in Newcastle who said it was TUTELA BT, and the a lad from OPIEOILS said it could be one of three different types depending on what box was fitted!!! So as you can guess im not sure what to use or how to fill and check the level. I have managed to locate a replacement new pipe for £67 + vat so thats not too bad. I may try to get in touch with Maserati UK and see if they can help with the g/box oil problem. I found a black plug that fits my 3 loose wires under the ABS pump, it looks like the had been jammed in something and fell down, all soldered back together now. The car would not start today so i will need to find that fault that i though had fixed itself, think it may be the timmimg pick up.

Good stuff - sounds like things are getting fixed! I'd be interested to know the outcome of the gearbox oil question, suspect Maserati will say the same as the manual. Another fella to ask if you can't get the answer from Maserati directly would be Marios at Autoshield Maserati in Manchester - he's pretty knowledgable about all things Maser, and is a forum sponsor. Hope you're up and running again soon!

Are, the old TDC sensor, yes, same as the Alfas, dont pay too much for the Maserati box though! Think it was the same as a GTV and about £7 or so.

Sounds like you are getting there FLORADAEDD!

Good luck - it'll all be worth it when it's done.

Take care

Hi just a quick up-date on the auto box oil, i spoke with a member of staff from EASYGEARS at Cleveland (01642 601280) who told me that any Dexton 3 oil will be fine. He was very helpfull and said when the car is up on the ramp if i ring him and discribe it to him he will tell me how and where i should fill it. Ordered a replacement pipe from Eurospares and it arrived the next day, 1st class service.

Hi floradaedd
welcome aboard.
when I was serching for what alfa called selespeed oil I was recomended to use either dexton 3 or tutela.
I found both were easy to obtain from any good car spares shop.
