Yep, that's me...

I'm fine, nothing but a bruised ego. Got caught out exiting a roundabout in the wet, and ran out of talent just before the armco... Oopsy.

For anyone interested in buying the salvage I'll make a few points:

The engine is good. Just had a new cambelt and waterpump. Contactless throttle body and pedal sensor installed. Will need all new radiators (including ac) and an intercooler plus associated ducts, pipes etc, but it's otherwise intact and runs fine.

Mileage on the clocks is 35 as listed, but it's a 120k+ car going by mot history.

Bodywork is bad! Not only from this crash but from the previous repair too which had filler 10mm thick along the whole side of the car, as revealed by this crash! The damage runs the full length of the car up to the rear arch.

One side skirt is damaged but repairable. Rear bumper is intact, as is the straight through exhaust.

Interior is in OK condition. Dash has peeling leather. Airbags weren't activated, I way only doing about 30 lol.

The chassis leg on the side of the impact is bent, as is the front crossmember.

Two of the wheels are also bent, repairable with new barrels and lips but that's a cost of more than they're worth.

It is repairable, but it's a car with two write-offs on its record now so resale value is severely afftected!

As a parts car, there's money to be made, but I would strongly advise against buying it to try and repair.

And there ends my brief foray into fast car ownership. I'm now happily back in my comfort zone of big luxury barges. I might be back one day when the itch for a qp eventually gets me, but till then, it's been a pleasure folks. :)

You are my no means the first to be caught by the twins spooling up in the wet!

Glad you are OK. You need that QP project I posted yesterday ;)

Sorry to read this, and a reminder to everyone they can bite back, especially in the wet as they spool up. Glad to personal injuries. Onwards to the next :)

serious enthusiast to come back and posture details, chapeau.
The traction in any 3200 is marginal in the dry, let alone the wet. No Shame at all losing grip and control. Glad you are okay and hopefully this experience will help your future driving career.
Experience truly must be paid for. I was told plenty of times about traction in cornering and wet conditions, but luckily had all my huge events on trackdays.

Sorry to read about that and, as others have said, glad you are OK.

Really so good of you to share the intel.

Cheers chaps. Yeah it's a lesson learned. 26yrs of driving and this was my first big accident. I said from day one that this was probably going to be the car that killed me, thankfully it didn't!

Seemed the right thing to do to share a bit more info than the copart listing gives. Would hate to see someone pick it up as a project to then be disappointed.

It's a shame to see it go, but life goes on. Hopefully it will help a few other cars stay on the road!

Fair play- good to know you escaped, soul intact !

I liked mine in the wet on Pirellis, a lot of fun at reasonable speeds. Just very wary not to sneeze mid corner lol

So unsurprisingly it was North East Sports Salvage (formerly of TVR Glen fame) that bought the car from Copart. Not sure why he does it, as imagine it cost him a fair bit to buy and transport to the North East.

I have to say it, but it is not worth £7k even as a cat S manual 3200 and even if he sold it for that he is probably only clearing a couple of grand. Must be easier ways to make a living.

And note it is advertised as a 32k miles clock, but as @Jhc32gt helpfully explained judging by its history this is a 100k+ car. At least half the work of removing the aftermarket bodykit has already been done for you.
