Sorry I wasn't very clear -they used my pictures and description! I have contacted PH so we shall see what happens ..i knew a 11k 4200 was too good to be true!!

What I don't understand is what did they hope to gain.....Your advert......How would they get any money as you would view the car first...No car, no money would change hands........Surely no one would part with cash without viewing...

If this is a scam, then it's one I've seen before. You make enquiries about the car in the pictures (fake one) and verbally do the deal agreeing to make payment when viewed. When you arrive to view the car you're told " I'm sorry mate, but someone came and bought the car last night/this morning, before you came, but I've still got this one left in stock " (A vehicle of the same model but with none of the history etc and probably dodgy ). If you have travelled a long way then you may be tempted to give it a look or to haggle to a point where you think is okay but there is a very high chance that this vehicle is bent. TREAD VERY CAREFULLY !!!
I'd be interested to hear how you get on and how PH handle this.

I wonder if its just a would be buyer putting the ad up then saying "come on mate, this car here is £11k, what makes yours worth £20k?"

Or a scam. Either way, needs reporting to PH.

These bastards do make good money out of scams....one was selling an alfa spyder for 6k and silly uncle of mine nearly put a 2k dep on it over the phone.....

Apologies to the OT for hi-jacking but I emailed the seller yesterday asking why he stole my advert and this was the reply...

I am glad that you are interested to buy my car. The car works and stands in perfect condition, I never had any problems with the engine.There is no outstanding finance and the car is HPI clear, the V5 is present and in my name, the car is in immaculate unmarked condition throughout.
We live in the South part of Sweden, in Malmo.
We have a house to spend our holidays in Liverpool. This is why the car has english plates and english registration yet.The reason for selling it now is that we are a nice couple of pensioners (I am 58 years old), we love spending our time (and money) traveling around the world by plane, so a car is no more useful for us. Also we sold our holiday house in England and bought a big vacation house in the fabulous Malmo.
If you agree and you are decided for a meeting to see the car and make a test-drive we are ready to make a trip to England and meet you in a city acceptable for both of us.(were are you located?)
We truly believe that this can be a good deal!


The advert has been pulled by PH now.
