Which jet are you on? A private Lear or a clapped out ex air portugalia embraear with 200 seats they were all leather but not worth 800 spondulicks. The Lear option is value.

That's pretty good value! I did one similar about 10 years ago and it cost a fair bit more than that with only a few extras like helicopter transfer from Nice to the track, apartment over looking the start-finish line, free bar & food, etc.

If my money wasn't tied up in several tons of dog food I'd be up for it!

It's got to be from the deck of a Super Yacht moored along the harbour wall in the Swimming Pool Complex though....

A day trip would just frustrate the **** out of me.

Let me try to translate:

"Exclusive luxury private charter with all leather seats" = clapped out holiday charter donkey Airbus.

"Private departure lounge" = group deal access to one of the commercially run departure lounges.

"Hot breakfast, dinner, on flight" = something in tinfoil reheated.

"Luxury coach transfer" = bus.

"General admission" = normally means sitting on the grass.

I've never been to the Monaco GP so don't know what it means here but presumably doesn't give you a designated seat. I've just looked on the official web site and the cheapest ticket is £136 - so I presume that's what they provide.

Alternatively:-

Easyjet still has flights available. Dear by Easyjet's standards but still only £300 all in.

So you could still do this trip for £500.

On second thoughts, it's not so bad. You could put it together cheaper but not a lot cheaper because the taxis from Nice to Monaco are shockingly dear - probably dearer on a GP weekend - and at least going this way you would be with a charter 'plane full of like minded people, which could be a laugh.

Just so long as you weren't expecting the VIP treatment it could be a good day out.

Be gutting to leave at the end of the race though. Surely a night out on the tiles would be a far mroe fitting end to the day.

Here here. The after party would be a key part of the experience in my book.

Party on the private jet flying around on a booze cruise for s few hours...???

That's what we thought on our way back, plenty of champers consumed and then we discovered that our 8 seat jet didn't have a toilet on board!!! It all got a bit quiet and serious for the last 20mins of the flight, we actually stopped for an emergency pee break whilst taxiing to the jet's parking space at the private airfield. So civilised us Brits...

There's a great series of articles on James Hunt in this week's Autosport, full of stories like that. Did you know when he was commentating on 'that' race at Donington he had already had a bottle of white wine and the toilet block was miles away from the commentary box so he used two empty cans of Lilt without pausing his commentary of the race!

As Mike Doodson, who wrote the story, says: he's never been able to look at a can of Lilt again no matter how thirsty he is.

Note to self, take bucket next time when spending £k's on a private jet.

I personally think that is very poor.
