Misting up windscreen

I have to say the most noticeable improvement in my Gransport since it came back from service at HR Owen is the fact it no longer mists up my windscreen since all the leaves and air con drain pipes have been cleared. It used to drive me crazy everytime I would turn the ignition key and the front windscreen would suddenly mist up.....and it would take ages to clear. Well worth keeping the pipes clear to stop this really annoying problem from re occuring

Mines doing this, time to clear it out, it needs re gassing anyway, summers on its way, so a good time to do it.

Apparently there's an anti-bacterial spray that can be flushed through the air-con system when it's being re-gassed? Anyone come across it? It's apparently to get rid of the smell? Anyway Geoff's going to have his guy do it when he services my car.

That must be the stuff! Sick car syndrome! Wonder if I can get the spray on the National Health?

The difference since this has been cleaned out is fantastic. I also had the air con recharged and no more pongs. I reckon this task is something that should be undertaken at least once a year and probably once autumn leaf fall has finished.

Alex, if the drain pipes are cleared and kept cleared there should be no need for any further aids. The ventilation system in the Maserati works surprisingly well if these pipes are kept clear

Agree, I have never had any issues and I live in Scotland which is perpetually wet.

What did they charge for this proceedure?

How do you guys tend to run your air con? Is it permanelty on auto or econ? Mine seems fine, run it on auto and had no bad smells. But I do occassionally get a small amount of misting on start up. As for if my air con needs a recharge, I'm unsure as it's been that bloomin cold!

I suppose you could get the recharge done at an indie as there are always a few offering it for cheap?

I tend to run it with the aircon on, unless I have the windows open. Pressing 'econ' turns the aircon off (it's an Italian thing!).

X1ons they did not charge me for clearing the pipes but they did charge me £10,000 for the oil change :auto62:

No seriously, HR Owen appear to have done this under warranty as there is no charge on the invoice
