Didn't get the i8 in the end Andy. The dealer finally managed to loan me one for several days at the end of October; extended test drives certainly help to get to know what a car will be like to live with compared to just a brief test drive. The i8 certainly isn't a dog, it actually exceeded my expectations in some areas, but unfortunately fell short in others (e.g. poor electric-only range, fuel economy). But the main thing was that it just 'didn't do it for me' in the end; it failed to give me that warm fuzzy feeling inside like Maseratis do for instance. So after lots of to-ing and fro-ing I let my order go, which was probably the right thing to do in the end.

Welcome back T my friend! Glad you are back on the web etc... and interesting to hear your real world experience of the i8.

And Athol: For sure one will come down with me but it will be the manual as the Mrs simply won't let me put the miles on her car!

You should deal with professionals, mate. PCW is never going to be anything other than the lowest common denominator.
You're not wrong Chris! I would happily have used someone else, except that the laptop was originally purchased from PCW (as I got a great deal on it at the time), and hence I sent it back to them under warranty... After several 'repairs' (and months) later they decided to scrap my laptop without asking me or letting me know first! :banghead1:
In the end they refunded me back the full cost of the laptop and I managed to buy a higher spec laptop for less money than my old one. A higher spec PC and a few extra £ in my pocket, along with another 12 months warranty wasn't a bad result in the end (although I confess it wasn't worth all the aggro! GRRRRR)

Good to be back Phil. Being without a PC was driving me insane (well more insane than I usually am lol)

Congrats on the addition to your family :thumb3:
