Hi Guys

Now that my headlight drama appears to be resolved I was reminded (as I was in at the front bumper) of an issue with my old 911.

On it I ended up with a stone puncture through one of the front radiators and the garage (rpm Porsche specialist in Harrogate) recommended mesh Grills for the 3 radiator apertures in the front bumper from zunsport (they could of course have been rinsing me (it was an expensive visit due to other reasons (IMS bearings...))).

I haven't seen it discussed here (and zunsport don't seem to make Maserati grills). Is it safe to assume they are not afflicted in the same way / it's not worth it.

More prone to the oil return hose nut splitting! Oh and ingesting water from the air intake being in the dumbest place possible!

This is/was a problem with certain BMWs.
My own M140i has a weakness for radiator stone damage. BMW themselves decided to add plastic slat guards in front of the radiator to protect the tubes.
This to me was an admittance of the vulnerability of the radiators, but refused to retro fit to first generation cars as a recall.
Zunsport sell guards but I've run the risk, fitting the BMW plastic guards aren't easy as the mounting points aren't present on the earlier cars.
It's simply a case of some manufacturers using less impact resistant (cheap} radiator construction.

The Porshes also have known to present with cooling related damage to engines because the rads lose efficiency, already an "ask" with the rads so far from the blocks - and this because the rad spaces back up with road detritus, leaves etc..rotting the hardware, and decreasing air flow. as I understand it...!

My Alfa GT had this moons ago as we came back from Bluewater (ironic) Tiny pinhole. Sent a bloke in a van, which was clearly a non starter. Then a flat bed which it couldn't get on due to the nose. I think i was about 4 hours something equally rubbish
